Listed here below are some of the most important festivals celebrated by the different tribes of Nagaland.

The Nagas celebrate so many festivals. Each tribe celebrate at least one or more festivals. Each festival may be spread over a period of more than a week. Moreover, each day of the festival period may also be known by a different name. To complicate matters still, the most important day of the festival may not be the first or last days, but somewhere in the middle. So, I have listed out only one of the most important festivals from each tribe. In some cases, I had to do some cross-referencing.

Various rituals are performed during this period. Each tribe has a different set of rituals to perform. Some involve small animal sacrifices but you can bet all of them involve feasting and dancing.

Almost all the festivals are associated with the harvest - whether it is the beginning or at the end of it.
